STHENOS AI, a new member company of EFA GROUP specialising in advanced artificial intelligence solutions for defence and dual-use applications, is working with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Infinitum to deliver an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML) infrastructure and containerised environment, designed to accelerate innovation in defence, security and software.

The project is part of EFA GROUP’s broader strategy to develop independent, secure and high-performance AI ecosystems in Greece. The ultimate goal is to strengthen industrial and technological autonomy and the ability to develop mission-critical AI applications in a controlled environment.

The infrastructure will operate on STHENOS AI’s premises, ensuring complete security, autonomy and data sovereignty in line with the latest cybersecurity standards.

Key pillars of the project

The project involves developing an integrated AI/ML platform based on Red Hat OpenShift AI for training, deploying and managing artificial intelligence models in a containerised environment. The infrastructure runs on HPE GPU servers with NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs, delivering high performance for training and inference workloads, while data storage is based on HPE Alletra Storage Arrays for maximum resilience and speed. The platform offers an advanced containerised architecture, unified management of Kubernetes workloads and high levels of availability, cybersecurity and data protection, using technologies from leading international vendors.

Markos Hatziminas, CEO of STHENOS AI, said: “Integrating AI infrastructure into our own EKBA-certified premises is a decisive step for the progress of Greek artificial intelligence and defence technology. We are applying levels of security that did not previously exist in the Greek market, eliminating the risks of cloud environments and ensuring complete control over the development of critical AI applications. With this initiative, we are strengthening the country’s technological autonomy and contributing substantially to upgrading the domestic innovation ecosystem.”

Periklis Louzis, Sales Director of Infinitum, said: “We are proud to support STHENOS AI in creating a containerised AI infrastructure that combines leading hardware and software with strong security. This project demonstrates our commitment to providing integrated, cloud-native solutions that enable organisations to innovate securely and autonomously.”

Dimitra Zervou, Sales Executive, HPE, said: “HPE supports strategic infrastructure that strengthens the country’s technological autonomy and innovation. The STHENOS AI project with Infinitum demonstrates how HPE solutions can deliver power, reliability and security in demanding AI environments.”
